The length of period it took for the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull to come out was more or less 20 years and that length of time had seen a lot of changes in the movie industry. Some amazing facts about the movie, Harrison Ford had to gain a few pounds for his aged role(many say he’s a health buff) and needed not much changes to the movie’s wardrobe sets. Harrison had put on some of the original suits he wore in previous films without much adjustments needed in terms of the size of his clothes.
There was also an interesting fact that came up wherein Indiana Jones wasn’t allowed much to play with his trademark bullwhip which was part of his persona due to stringent safety measures of today. The physical demands on the actor was still high and Harrison Ford being a man of pride, still did most of his stunts (with the help of modern safety rigging of course which he says greatly improved his performance) as he did with most of his films.

映写の前にさえ、多くの批評がなされました。 どんな状況にあっても、皆の気に入る事は出来ないものです。 主役が実際に歳を取ることによって、3部作を継続するアイデアが気に入っている人もいれば、 それが気に入らない人もいて、登場人物が懸命に、時の経過を償おうとしているように受け取る人もいます。 殆どの人は、失敗もおかし他の人と同様傷ついたりするヒーローとしての｢インディアナ｣がただ好きです。 特別な力も無く、素晴らしい事をやってのける、普通の教授なのです。 それが観客を、もう少しばかりの行動と勇気があれば、彼の様になれると感じさせるのです。 これはレッスンです。その後ろに潜んでいる楽しみと勇気が、皆に映画を好きにさせるという。
各人、感想を持っているにしろ、インディアナ・ジョーンズ映画は、今までに作られた最も人気の有る映画の一つで、映画史上の伝説の一部となっています。

Cate Blanchett plays the role of Dr. Irina Spalko in the latest Indiana Jones movie. And for her performance in that flick, she is again nominated for an award. But as a villain. Blanchett is already an Oscar winner. But this time, she will be competing with tough contenders, Angelina Jolie and Anne Hathaway for the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Female Action Star. As we can recall, Ms. Blanchett wore the dark wig and spoke Russian accent to portray the villainous Col. Dr. Spalko. In the movie, Dr Irina Spalko was born in mountain village, somewhere in USSR. She had psychic powers and was accused of being a witch up to a point that even her mother feared her. It was at this time that she fled the village and her personal quest to understand herself.

Frank Marshalluse, the film’s producer planned the shots to be the same way as the previous three. Meaning, with all the stunt men and using CGI only when it is necessary. Spielberg had the same plans too. But when the filming began, the decision was handed down that they needed to during filming the decision was made to employ more CGI. They did not anticipate this citing they would only use around 30% CGI in the film.Steven Spielberg wanted Janusz Kaminski, who shot all his films starting from the Schindler’s List in 1993, to replace the newly retired cinematographer, Douglas Slocombe. He had worked on all three of the previous Indiana Jones’ films. Spielberg did not want to modernize the photography. He retained the comic book style.This proves to be a much harder work for Kaminski since he had to watch all the three films over again to study the retired cinematographer’s style and technique.Several other titles were considered and registered before finalizing on “The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”. Some of which were, City of Gods, THe Fourth Corner of the Earth, The Destroyer of Worlds and The Lost City of Gold to name a few.
Trivia: The girl who punches Mutt in the diner scene is Sasha Spielberg, Spielberg’s daughter.

An ordinary guy who does extraordinary things
After more than 25 years, the greatest adventure of all time that was highly anticipated was released into the big screen once again. The fourth installment of Indiana Jones trilogy collection was released June 2007.
A lot of reviews were released even prior to the screening of the movie. In any given situation, we can’t really please everyone. Some say they love the idea of continuing the trilogy by realistically aging the main character. Some say, it was lousy and the character seem to be trying hard to keep up with the changes of the times. Most people just like the character of “Indiana” as a hero who makes mistakes and gets hurt just like any human being. He is an ordinary professor who does extraordinary things with no superpowers. That makes the audience feel that, a little more exercise and little more courage, they could be just like him. It was the lesson; enjoyment and encouragement behind it that made them love the movie.
The can have their own opinions, but Indiana Jones films are among the most popular ever made and have become a legendary part of film history.

Before ‘The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull’ was selected as the title, several other titles were considered and even registered with the MPAA in August 2007, including ‘The City of Gods’, ‘The Destroyer of Worlds’, ‘The Fourth Corner of the Earth’, ‘The Lost City of Gold’, and finally, ‘The Quest for the Covenant’.
This is the first Indiana Jones film without actor Pat Roach, who had a role in all the first three films. Roach died in 2004.
In 2006, Harrison Ford stated that if this film was not completed by 2008, then the filmmakers should drop the idea altogether. This alerted Steven Spielberg looking for a good script immediately.
The poster art for the movie was drawn by Drew Struzan, the same artist who also created the poster art for the previous two Indiana Jones films. He took over from original Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) poster artist Richard Amsel who died in 1985.
He heals his father just as the floor opens up trying to get the grail back, Indy’s girl blinded by the true value of the find falls. Indy himself tires to get at the grail and ends up almost falling too if it wasn’t for his father ho tells him to let go of the artifact and return to his life (and family forever ending his mercenary attitude, or so we think). They get out and end up living their normal lives his father having fulfilled his life’s work (who was the initial seeker of the Holy Grail) sets out on new adventures and Indiana Jones returns to his college teaching job as an Archaeology professor.

The third film was again a true masterpiece of action packed scenes, unbelievable stunts and of course the award winning performance of it�s cast. It focuses on the true quest for the search of the mythical Holy Grail which is said to have all the mystical powers on this earth. This is the cup Jesus used in the last supper and was said to be taken by the crusaders and hidden in a secret location protected from all humanity till the truly pure again comes to claim it and reveal it to the world. The only catch, it was only allowed to stay within the boundaries of the cave complex which housed it. The Knight thanks Indy for freeing him from his eternal quest as protector of the Grail and gives him pointers as he dies off to finish his life’s purpose. The Grail is supposedly is� a true artifact and archaeologists (biblical and otherwise) have been trying to get at it since time immemorial.

Anybody who grew up in the 80’s knows about Indiana Jones. From the rising director George Lucas the story and film plus the sequels brings to the silver screen unmatched action sequences and daring stunts never before combined into one action packed film that keeps you glued onto the screen. From suspense to great visual sets, they truly were a true work of art and the beginning of the rise of Lucas into becoming one of the most successful directors of all time. With his success in the Star Wars movies which had a very interesting approach by starting with the last three episodes then releasing last the first three, movie goers had to see the first set of films to get the continuation in the storyline going.
Drew Struzan made the movie poster for the latest Indiana Jones movie: The kingdom of the crystal skull, the fourth installment for the first three blockbuster hit 19 years ago. It was said that the poster was done under the specific request of George Lucas himself and that it was specifically instructed to have the colors that resembles that of classic old rust to promote a feeling of nostalgia among the movie-going public. Well whatever the strategy is, it worked. The Kingdom of the crystal skull grossed to be the best selling movie for the summer.
