Cate Blanchett plays the role of Dr. Irina Spalko in the latest Indiana Jones movie. And for her performance in that flick, she is again nominated for an award. But as a villain. Blanchett is already an Oscar winner. But this time, she will be competing with tough contenders, Angelina Jolie and Anne Hathaway for the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Female Action Star. As we can recall, Ms. Blanchett wore the dark wig and spoke Russian accent to portray the villainous Col. Dr. Spalko. In the movie, Dr Irina Spalko was born in mountain village, somewhere in USSR. She had psychic powers and was accused of being a witch up to a point that even her mother feared her. It was at this time that she fled the village and her personal quest to understand herself.
