As we can recall, Ms. Blanchett wore the dark wig and spoke Russian accent to portray the villainous Col. Dr. Spalko. In the movie, Dr Irina Spalko was born in mountain village, somewhere in USSR. She had psychic powers and was accused of being a witch up to a point that even her mother feared her. It was at this time that she fled the village and her personal quest to understand herself.
