There have been many surprising information about the film, cast and character that some further immortalize Indiana Jones as the symbol for action and adventure. Considered to be one of the most influential character and films that had spurred new life into the action, sci-fi adventure style films like Lara Croft (Tomb Raider), Ben Gates (National Treasure), Rick O’Connell (The Mummy) and Sydney Fox (Relic Hunter). Do you know that the movie started the collaboration just as Lucas was releasing the first Star War’s Films, and that the film’s main character wasn’t initially conceived to be Indiana Jones but “Smith” which Spielberg disliked so much he agreed to a random suggestion from Lucas which was to become the legend that is Indiana Jones.
The sequel to the first film which sparked a lot of interest was set mainly in India where he discovers a Cult that used children as labor and slaves in their operations. Again, Harrison Ford is thrust deep into an action adventure film that captivated more and more people since the first film’s release. The righteous Indy tries to rescue the said children who uses cult magic and other means who kidnaps children from their hometowns never to be seen again. They were sacrificed, beaten and used to mine some enchanted stones that were to give the cult ultimate powers over mankind.
Not in the Archaeologist sense that is, for the actor has been in Hollywood for so long that he just had to survive. His first stints with acting ended in flops which led to him getting into another profession – carpentry. He was so good that he was well sought after in Hollywood. When his break finally came, he pissed off his own agent when he turned down role after role as he picked them so carefully. He made his mark with the Star Wars series and again in the Indiana Jones series of films which were all box office hits along with several other roles which showed off his versatility. From action, adventure, comedy, suspense and even taking on the roles of the villain, he’s done it all. The man who represents and plays Indiana Jones has the makings of one indeed. His adventurous nature as to his doing most of his own stunts along with his temper and one liners, he has indeed become the legend who is Indiana Jones.

Remember the first film that introduced us to Indiana Jones? Raiders of the Lost Ark had our adventurer being lured by the Germans who seek the Ark of the Covenant which was the mythical box which was made by King Solomon and is said to hold the tablets where the Ten Commandments were stored and kept. The story has some fact in it in a sense that historically it is believed that there was truly an Ark of the Covenant which was indeed built by King Solomon and placed in the temple according to instructions from GOD Himself.
That’s where the facts end and the fiction/adventure part begins for most of the storyline is fictional and as born out of the imagination of the Hollywood writers and the brains or George Lucas who directed and owns the company who made them.

An ordinary guy who does extraordinary things
After more than 25 years, the greatest adventure of all time that was highly anticipated was released into the big screen once again. The fourth installment of Indiana Jones trilogy collection was released June 2007.
A lot of reviews were released even prior to the screening of the movie. In any given situation, we can’t really please everyone. Some say they love the idea of continuing the trilogy by realistically aging the main character. Some say, it was lousy and the character seem to be trying hard to keep up with the changes of the times. Most people just like the character of “Indiana” as a hero who makes mistakes and gets hurt just like any human being. He is an ordinary professor who does extraordinary things with no superpowers. That makes the audience feel that, a little more exercise and little more courage, they could be just like him. It was the lesson; enjoyment and encouragement behind it that made them love the movie.
The can have their own opinions, but Indiana Jones films are among the most popular ever made and have become a legendary part of film history.
The character is fittingly aged for the role (with Harrison Ford at 65) which matches the true age of the main actor, making the film and the character age equally. His age necessitates the addition of an assistant in the form of Shia LaBeouf. Rumors that a previous cast Sir Sean Connery would be called onto to again play the father of Indy have been unsubstantiated. He still does crazy stunts with his whip, gun and still jumps from high places. He gets punched, has phobias, makes jokes trips and falls as the movie portrays a character that one can relate to a movie character that is after all, human through and through.
In the new installment to the legend that is Indiana Jones, he gets a sidekick in the character of Shia LaBeouf who has greasier hair and can drive a motorcycle. Racing against agents of the Soviet Union led by Kate Blanchet the lead woman in the film, Indy always has the signature love-hate relationship which has made him the legend that he is. The story takes us back to the Cold War where Indy and the Soviets are after a mythical Crystal Skull made from quartz that is said to possess magical properties. The story takes the characters all throughout the America’s ending up in Peru in some ancient ruin where the skull is finally found.
